Eat Natural, Feel Wonderful

Back home from relaxation central, Kefalos in the beautiful Greek Island of Kos and feeling like posting something about the simple apartments we chose to stay in for the two weeks of enjoying sunshine, amazing cooking, swimming the in sea and doing nothing but listening to music and reading.

We have visited this town for the last five years on and off; we were engaged there and also spent our honeymoon there so there is a special connection as well as just a fast growing love for their speed of lifestyle and the overwhelmingly friendliness of the local people. Around the palm tree perimeter of our apartments we were lucky enough to have a grove of all the fruit & vegetables you can imagine; lemons, limes, pears, nectarines, pomegranates, butternut squashes, bananas, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and herbs. It was a culinary paradise!

We would wander round to the pool and pull limes for adding to our cold beers and chill as the sun died into the ocean. Some people like different things from a holiday, some enjoy keeping busy, some sightseeing, some consuming large amounts of alcohol and sleeping around, some even going to the gym and keeping fit. Personally there is nothing I love better than waking up early to swim in the ocean, have some breakfast, enjoy the sunshine, listen to music, eat dinner, and enjoy cocktails into the early morning until I need to wake up and do it all again.

If you haven’t been to a Greek Island, I think what I’m trying to say in this post is that you should go and try it, it will give you a taste of the speed life should be, it will show you the most important lessons about relaxation and family life, and you never know you might even get a tan while you’re there.
